Adult Lecture Series: A Discussion on Patton with Paul J. Cancelliere

Paul J. Cancelliere, MAJ USA (Ret) served as an Infantry Officer from 1981 – 2004 in the 1-16th, 1St Infantry Division (FWD), Federal Republic of Germany, 2-34 and 3-7th Infantry, 24th Infantry Division, Fort Stewart, GA, the Combat Maneuver Training Center, 7th Army Training Command, Hohenfels, Germany, 2nd Brigade, 1st Armored Division, Baumholder, Germany, the 173rd Infantry Brigade, Southern European Task Force, Vicenza, Italy, CENTCOM (US Central Command), and US Army Cadet Command. Paul is a former Veterans Service Officer. In the private sector, he worked as a program lead with Perot Systems.

Paul is the president of the Paul Revere Chapter, and a board member of the Bay State Council affiliated with Military Officer’s Association of America (MOAA). He is a perpetual member of the Greater Boston Chapter of the Military Order of World Wars (MOWW). Paul served as the chair of the Town of Wakefield Veterans Advisory Board (2021 – 2026) offering veterans a powerful voice in their community. He is a board member of the Friends of Patton Homestead.

Paul’s connection with Patton Homestead is through the late Joanne Holbrook Patton, also a MOAA Life member. Their friendship inspired him to assist the late Carol Mori, Patton Family Archivist, to create public programs spotlighting veteran’s military career zeniths and sacrifices. The art of small group story telling enables veterans to reflect and share with the public an ability to overcome hardships and challenges faced while serving in the military. These are lessons to be shared with our local communities, as well as in the corporate sector. These stories inspire others to thrive.

Paul and his wife, Catherine, raised five children while serving on active duty. Together for over four decades they enjoy traveling spending time with their adult children and grandchildren.
