Stable

Here on the North Shore of Massachusetts, there is a long-standing tradition of using horses for both work and recreation, and Nancy took part in that tradition. She was an animal lover in general, and she became an accomplished horsewoman, starting during her childhood summers in Magnolia, one of the small villages that make up Gloucester, MA.

This is her interpretation of a horse stable, one of her smaller room boxes, which still showcases her remarkable attention to detail.

Note the rusty, dented wheelbarrow, and the summer sky just visible through the window. It’s a little less realistically messy than some of her other pieces, but still has the same charming attention given to other details.
