Lend a Helping Hand Today – #GivingTuesdayNow
Dear Kristin,
This past winter, we had an exhibit in our Family Discovery Gallery called Beep! Beep! Beep! which was inspired by the children’s book, The Little Blue Truck. That book’s central message is more important today than it ever was: “Now I see a lot depends on a helping hand from a few good friends.”
Today, Tuesday, May 5th, is Giving Tuesday Now around the globe. This is is a global day of giving and unity organized as an emergency response to the incredible need caused by COVID-19.
In this moment, we are all asked to live the lessons we teach our children by lending a helping hand. This may mean supporting your local food pantries, like Accord or Beverly Bootstraps, or helping our local hospitals like Beverly Hospital and Anna Jaques Hospital. It could also mean an act of kindness or generosity for a family member, friend, or neighbor in need.
Like many businesses, nonprofits, and cultural institutions, the Wenham Museum also needs community support to weather our shutdown. The museum has survived much in its 98 year history, and with your ongoing support and friendship, we’ll survive this, too.
If you’d like to support the museum, there are three key ways you can help:
Whatever you are able to do today, we hope you do something to lend a helping hand to your community or the world.
Sincerely,
Kristin Z. Noon
