In the center is a circle with a young child who is sitting up in bed with a delighted face looking at a drum, trumpet and other presents in front of him. Butterflies are at the top left of the circle; a dove with a long ribbon in the bottom right. The back has a teal-colored border, vines, a circle with a teal border and a square with a teal border Inside the square is a poem that begins with, "Merry Christmas, Merry Christmas! have you really truly come? Merry Christmas, Merry Christmas! What a splendid little drum!......." At the bottom is printed, "Prang's American Fourth Artists Prize, Christmas Card by Alfred Fredericks."
