Wenham Museum provides safe, fun, and flexible childcare for elementary students, including after-school care for Hamilton-Wenham’s early release Wednesdays and school vacation week childcare. These drop-off programs for students in kindergarten through grade 5 offer a caring and supportive environment, friendship, and fun. Students will be engaged in a wide variety of hands-on activities including art, crafts, games, building with LEGOs, exploring the museum galleries, and more.
Wenham Wednesdays
A drop-off program for Hamilton-Wenham Elementary students, for early release Wednesdays.
Every Wednesday during the school year, Wenham Wednesdays will feature activities such as craft projects, board games, LEGO building, paper crafts, and more – plus time for students to explore the museum galleries with friends.
Program hours: 1:15 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. (extended pick-up to 4:00 p.m. available)
Students should bring a nut-free snack and water from home.
Bus transportation, based on space availability, from the HW Regional School district is available to this program from the local elementary schools. Children will be met at the bus stop across Rt. 1A from the Wenham Museum by museum staff. Families are required to arrange any bus route changes with the school district directly.

Members: $25/day (add $10.00 for extended pick-up)

Daily Schedule:
- Private time in the galleries before the museum opens.
- Craft or activity time in the “secret room” otherwise known as the Pickering Library. Few people visit this museum space.
- Admission to the special ticketed program of the day is included.
- Bring a nut-free snack and water.
- Play some games until it is time to go home.
Summer Discovery Days
A daily drop-off program for families looking to bridge the gap between school and summer camp.
Summer Discovery Days offers fun and flexible childcare after the school year ends and before summer camp begins. It’s a half-day morning drop-off program that provides children between the ages of 4 and 10 supervised, engaging, hands-on play, a wide variety of activities, and exploration of the museum and the nearby outdoor spaces. Sign up for one day, or every day!
