SUMMARY:Opening Reception: Caring Counts & LuminArtz
DESCRIPTION:The exhibition Caring Counts:  Centuries in the Making by artist Leslie Lyman opens at the Wenham Museum today! \nArtist Leslie Lyman’s recent sculptural piece is about the often unnoticed\, but physically and emotionally difficult\, work of caring for others–work that is usually performed by women. Using a handmade account book\, which visitors will be able to touch and read\, she has documented these seemingly innumerable tasks. The display will be accompanied by still photographs that reference caregiver’s efforts on behalf of those they love\, and objects from the Wenham Museum’s own collection that support the history of care provided by women. Hands-on components will allow visitors to touch some the tools that have been used to provide care. \nJoin us for an opening reception on Friday\, June 24\, 2022 starting at 7:30 p.m.  A $10 Suggested Donation is requested at the door and a cash bar and light refreshments will be available.  \nThis opening reception will also feature a special\, live\, outdoor video art installation by LuminArtz beginning at 8:30 p.m.  This installation will be projected on the exterior of the Wenham Museum’s building and feature Leslie Lyman’s work as reimagined by artist Pamela Hersch. \nDuring the Opening Reception\, guests can also view the Caring Counts exhibition in the museum’s galleries. \nLearn more about Leslie Lyman >>\nLearn more about Pamela Hersch >>\nExplore the 2020 LuminArtz installation at the Wenham Museum >> \nThank You to Our Sponsor: LuminArtz

SUMMARY:Silhouette Portrait Artist
DESCRIPTION:Portraits In Silhouette is the combined expertise of silhouette artists and mother-daughter team\, Jean Comerford and Marcella Comerford-Foley. Portraits In Silhouette is focused on bringing you original\, personalized work\, full of inventive detail and creative spark. The silhouettes are never produced with a digital program\, copied\, or traced. You can expect a genuine\, hand-cut\, and individual portrait each time\, with consideration for the subject’s character and those great details – capturing “what makes them who they are.” Whether that is a signature hairstyle\, a cowlick\, the way they hold their mouth\, a bowtie\, or glasses\, we love to bring out the personality in our portraits. Children of all ages including wigglers are welcome! \nThe sitting fee is $79.00 per child. Each child requires his/her own sitting appointment. Each appointment is approximately 15 minutes in length. If you have more than one child\, we recommend booking back-to-back time slots. \nThe $79.00 sitting fee includes two silhouettes of your child: one facing right and one facing left. Additional copies of portraits are $25.00 and may be purchased on the day of your sitting. Frames are also available for purchase. \nInterested in visiting the museum galleries? Admission is a separate charge. \nAll cancellations made within three days of the program are nonrefundable unless your reserved sitting time can be resold.
