DESCRIPTION:Capture your child in silhouette!  Portraits in Silhouettes will once again be at the museum this November. Reserve a time for a sitting on Saturday\, November 18 between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Each sitting is 15 minutes and each child must have their own time.  \nThe cost is $79 per child and you receive two silhouettes of your child\, one facing right and one facing left. Additional copies of portraits are $25 and may be purchased the day of the sitting. More than one child? Reserve two time slots back-to-back.  \nPortraits In Silhouette is the combined expertise of silhouette artists and mother-daughter team\, Jean Comerford and Marcella Comerford-Foley. Portraits In Silhouette is focused on bringing you original\, personalized work\, full of inventive detail and creative spark. Their silhouettes are never produced with a digital program\, copied\, or traced. You can expect a genuine\, handcut\, and individual portrait each time\, with consideration for the subject’s character and those great details – capturing “what makes them who they are.” Whether that is a signature hairstyle\, a cowlick\, the way they hold their mouth\, a bow-tie\, or glasses\, we love to bring out the personality in our portraits!

DESCRIPTION:Memories in Stone: The Graves of Wenham’s Veterans \nIn recognition of Veterans Day\, The Wenham Museum’s Exhibitions Curator\, Jane Bowers\, will discuss the memorial stones of veterans of the American Revolution and the Civil War in Wenham Cemetery. Bowers has been an amateur student of gravestone symbology for many years\, and this presentation will specifically focus on some of the gravestones that memorialize veterans of two major conflicts that took place on US soil. The presentation will include information about the lives and military service of these veterans\, as well as the symbols and epitaphs on the stones themselves. \nAbout the Brown Bag Lunch Series\nJoin us the 3rd Thursday of every month to learn about local history and culture. Bring your own “brown bag lunch” and beverages and dessert will be provided by the museum.  This is a free community program\, although a $10 suggested donation is encouraged. \nImage: Memorial stone for Michael Buckley (1838-1920)\, Civil War Veteran\, Prisoner of War from June until December of 1864.

DESCRIPTION:The Patton Family in New England Tour chronicles the life and legacy of one of America’s premier military families who resided here on Boston’s North Shore. On the tour\, you will see four rooms within the Patton Homestead that are filled with military memorabilia\, family heirlooms\, photography\, books\, and papers that comprise a collection known as the Patton Family Archives. These Archives are also an untapped\, unparalleled resource regarding the service and sacrifice of Maj. Gen. Patton and his troops during the Korean and Vietnam Wars and that of his wife\, Joanne Holbrook Patton\, on the home front. \nGuided tours are offered at select dates and times and are available only by advanced online reservation through the Wenham Museum. Tours are approximately 90 minutes in length and include time for questions. Payment is required at the time of booking. \nTours are $15.00 for members of the Wenham Museum and $20.00 for nonmembers. Active Military and Veteran tour tickets are $10.00. Tour tickets also and include General Admission to the museum’s main location at 132 Main Street\, Wenham\, Massachusetts. \nGroups\nGroup tours are available for parties of 6 or more on a mutually agreeable date at time. We kindly ask for two weeks lead time for scheduling groups. Please contact the museum at info@wenhammuseum.org or (978) 468-2377\, ext. 113 to inquire. \nParking & Accessibility\nPublic parking is available in gravel lot located next to the Homestead. There is an incline to walk from the parking lot to the Homestead. We regret that at this time\, the Archives and the Homestead are not fully handicapped accessible. DESCRIPTION:Save the date!  Award-winning author and illustrator Matt Tavares visits the Wenham Museum with his new book\, Dasher Can’t Wait for Christmas. Join us for a day filled with festive fun! Matt will read Dasher Can’t Wait for Christmas\, sign books\, and may share some of his drawing secrets!  We’ll also have art activities to kick off the holiday season. \nReservations are required.  The program begins at 12 noon. Members are $6 per person and Nonmembers are $12 per person (ages 1 and up).  Tickets include admission to the museum. \n

DESCRIPTION:The Patton Family in New England Tour chronicles the life and legacy of one of America’s premier military families who resided here on Boston’s North Shore. On the tour\, you will see four rooms within the Patton Homestead that are filled with military memorabilia\, family heirlooms\, photography\, books\, and papers that comprise a collection known as the Patton Family Archives. These Archives are also an untapped\, unparalleled resource regarding the service and sacrifice of Maj. Gen. Patton and his troops during the Korean and Vietnam Wars and that of his wife\, Joanne Holbrook Patton\, on the home front. \nGuided tours are offered at select dates and times and are available only by advanced online reservation through the Wenham Museum. Tours are approximately 90 minutes in length and include time for questions. Payment is required at the time of booking. \nTours are $15.00 for members of the Wenham Museum and $20.00 for nonmembers. Active Military and Veteran tour tickets are $10.00. Tour tickets also and include General Admission to the museum’s main location at 132 Main Street\, Wenham\, Massachusetts. \nGroups\nGroup tours are available for parties of 6 or more on a mutually agreeable date at time. We kindly ask for two weeks lead time for scheduling groups. Please contact the museum at info@wenhammuseum.org or (978) 468-2377\, ext. 113 to inquire. \nParking & Accessibility\nPublic parking is available in gravel lot located next to the Homestead. There is an incline to walk from the parking lot to the Homestead. We regret that at this time\, the Archives and the Homestead are not fully handicapped accessible.
