SUMMARY:Children's Business Fair
DESCRIPTION:Weather Update as of Friday\, Sept. 22\, 2023: The Children’s Business Fair is a rain or shine event!  If you are signed up as a vendor for the fair\, please check the e-mail you provided during registration.  The event organizers have shared information with you regarding what will transpire in the event of rain.   \nCould a Ten Year Old Invent the next Uber? Find out at the Hamilton Wenham Children’s Business Fair\, showcasing kids’ entrepreneurial genius! We’re thrilled to host this event in partnership with Local HW. \nOn September 23rd from 11:00 AM to 3:00PM\, the third annual Hamilton Wenham Children’s Business Fair will host up to 50 young entrepreneurs\, ages 8-18\, on the front lawn at the Wenham Museum\, located at 132 Main Street (Rt. 1A) in Wenham. This event is free and open to the public and young vendors can apply from anywhere in the region. \nKids create a product or service\, develop a brand\, build a marketing strategy\, and then open for customers at this one-day marketplace. The children are responsible for the setup\, sales\, and interacting with customers\, and any parent seen selling to the customer or promoting the child’s product will result in disqualification from the competition. \nThis event is sponsored by Local HW\, the Wenham Museum and Acton Academy\, the Acton School of Business\, the generous support of the Town of Wenham\, and donors and volunteers\, who all believe that principled entrepreneurs are heroes and role models for the next generation. \nWhether an entrepreneur is famous\, like Elon Musk or Oprah Winfrey\, or one of the thousands of unsung business owners across this country\, these entrepreneurs are the people who make sacrifices to innovate\, create jobs\, and serve their communities. \n“Today’s youth are tomorrow’s business innovators and leaders. The Children’s Business Fair gives students the opportunity to spread their entrepreneurial wings and get a head start on promising business careers; this is a fantastic extension of our mission to support community businesses and it encourages and develops our next generation of entrepreneurs\,” said Jan Soolman\, President of Local HW. \nAwards will be presented in each of the three age groups (8-10\, 11-12\, 13-15\, 16+) for “Most Business Potential\,” “Most Creative Idea\,” and “Most Impressive Presentation.

SUMMARY:Maintenance Shut Down Days
DESCRIPTION:The Wenham Museum will be closed for maintenance and construction from Sunday\, August 27\, 2023 – Monday\, September 11\, 2023.  We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause our visitors and Members.  We know that during this time between the end of summer camps and the start of school\, many families are seeking local activities and we regret that we cannot be there for you during this time. \nDuring this shutdown\, we are reinstalling our main galleries\, renovating our Lobby and Museum Shop\, and making improvements to our exterior.  This includes re-laying and expanding our walkway and installing a new patio\, fencing\, and a wooden climb-on train.  We believe these many improvements will be much enjoyed by our visitors.  In order to complete them efficiently and safely\, a maintenance shutdown is the best course of action. \nWe look forward to seeing you when we reopen for our regularly scheduled ours on Tuesday\, September 12\, 2023 at 10 a.m. \nQuestions?  Please contact Visitor Services at (978) 468-2377\, ext. 113 or by e-mail at info@wenhammuseum.org.
