As these models are launched by using air pressure and arm strength\, they may be launched either in-doors or out\, as weather permits; no chemicals or smoke-inducing accelerates are used. \nThis program is recommended for ages 7/Grade 2 and up. DESCRIPTION:Pumpernickel Puppets will be visiting the Wenham Museum this holiday season with two stories\, The Three Billy Goats Gruff and The Lion and the Mouse on Tuesday\, December 26\, 2023 at 10:30am.  \n$10 Members and $14 Nonmembers – tickets required for all participants ages 2 and up. \nAdvanced Registration Required  \nPumpernickel Puppet shows are presented with a cast of colorful puppet characters\, audience participation\, live voices and sound effects and fast paced scripts that not only entertain but stimulate children’s imagination and creativity. DESCRIPTION:Do you love to read? Do you love meeting local authors? If yes\, come and experience the Wenham Museum’s first-ever Jolabokaflod! \nJolabokaflod is the Icelandic Christmas Book Flood\, a tradition that started during World War II when paper was not rationed and giving books as gifts became a tradition. Icelanders read their new books on Christmas Eve while sipping hot chocolate. \nLocal authors will be sharing and selling their work with the local community just in time for the giving season. Members of the public are invited to meet the authors\, shop the book flood\, enjoy a crafting activity (make a blank book to take home)\, and purchase hot chocolate to enjoy! \nTickets to this event will be free for Members and included with admission for all other guests.  Tickets include museum admission and access to all galleries and exhibitions.  Books and hot chocolate will be available for purchase. \nParticipating Authors & Illustrators (as of December 1\, 2023) \nRiley Adaris – Queer fiction\nMargarita Barresi – Historical fiction\nYash Bolishetti – YA Science fiction\nDianne C. DESCRIPTION:Ignite your child’s creativity with our fun-filled kids fiber arts class and watch their imagination soar. From beginner weaving to simple stitching to designing and sewing their own stuffies\, they’ll learn valuable skills while having a blast. Enroll today and let their adventures begin! \nProgram Schedule:\n\nWednesdays\, 1:30pm – 3:00pm \nDates: 1/3\, 1/10\, 1/17\, 1/24\, 1/31\, 2/7\, 2/14\, 2/28 (no session on 2/21)  \n\nEach week your child will level up with new skills\, enjoy a snack with friends\, and explore a part of the museum. All project materials are included. Bring a nut-free snack and water from home. \n Bus transportation from the HW Regional School district is also available to this program from the local elementary schools. Children will be met at the bus stop across Rt. 1A from the Wenham Museum by museum staff. \nThis program is open to children between the ages of 5 and 8. \nProjects are designed and led by our museum educator\, Margaurita Spear.
