DESCRIPTION:This special event is for Wenham Museum Members only in celebration of March is Membership Month!  \nRound up your little dragons and head to the Wenham Museum for our Dragons Love Tacos Party!  We’ll be having a dragon dance party\, making dragon-themed crafts\, and meeting our friendly dragon for fun and photo ops.  The museum’s galleries and exhibitions will also be open for you to enjoy. \nAnd of course\, tacos (but not spicy tacos) will be available for dinner while you’re here!  Metzy’s Cantina of Newburyport\, Mass. will be serving pulled chicken\, shredded pork\, short rib barbacoa\, and crispy cod tacos from their award-winning food truck.  A cash bar will also be available for beer\, wine\, and margaritas (ages 21+). \nRSVP is appreciated!  There is no fee to attend this event.  Food and alcoholic beverages must be purchased separately.

For 70 years\, she remained a constant presence as sovereign\, shepherding the people of the UK through both joyful times and darker periods of challenge and uncertainty. An enduring admiration for Queen Elizabeth II united people across the Commonwealth. \nShe was Queen of the United Kingdom and other Commonwealth realms from February 6\, 1952 until her death in September 8\, 2022. Her reign of 70 years and 214 days was the longest of any British monarch and the longest verified reign of any female head of state in history. In a world of constant change\, she was a steadying presence and a source of comfort and pride for generations of Britons\, including many who have never known their country without her. \nThe Queen supported over 600 charities during her reign. She will be remembered for her calm and dignity and as someone everyone in the world could look up to\, and she could be a unifying figure.  She was more than a monarch. DESCRIPTION:On January 15th\, registration goes live Wenham Museum and WVIS members to enroll in summer camp\, Camp Whirlygig!  Enrollment for the general public opens on January 21st. \nCamp Whirlygig is a summer camp at the Wenham Museum in partnership with the Wenham Village Improvement Society (WVIS).  Geared to young campers ages 4 -10\, Camp Whirlygig fosters fun\, friendship\, and curiosity.  With a 1:5 counselor to camper ratio\, a caring and supportive environment will create a comfortable summer camp experience for younger children. \nYoung campers will enjoy open-ended\, child-centered arts enrichment in studio art\, dance and drama; explorations related to museum exhibitions\, local history\, and culture; STEM and STEAM experiments; mindfulness and movement experiences designed to support emotional development; outdoor recreation and games; tennis; free play on the playground; and friendship-building activities within camper groups. \nThere is a half day or a full day option for camp.  Early drop-off and late pick-up is available.  Camp runs for six weeks from Monday\, July 1st (no camp on July 4th & 5th) through Friday\, August 9th. \nExplore the details\, tuition\, and enrollment on our camp page by clicking here.

Walk inside a giant\, inflatable humpback whale to learn more about these magnificent creatures. Learning about whales is also a great way to think critically about what you can do to help the wild world and our oceans. \nProgram participants will be sent an introductory video prior to the program date about whales and The Whalemobile. (This video will also be available for viewing inside the museum.) On February 24th\, participants will have a 30 minute visit seated inside a giant\, inflatable humpback whale with a naturalist and educator to learn about whales. This program is recommended for ages 5+. There will also be time for questions! \nLearn more about The Whalemobile online here. \nSave time afterwards to explore the rest of the museum galleries included in your ticket price. \n\nInclement Weather Policy: in the event of current or forecasted inclement weather\, the Wenham Museum may need to close its galleries and gift shop.
