SUMMARY:Queen Elizabeth II – “Her Majesty”
DESCRIPTION:Celebrate Women’s History Month by attending this interactive and educational performance about one of the most impactful women of our lifetime. \nShe was a true icon\, inspiring people around the world with her strength\, courage\, resilience\, and dedication to a life of service. For 70 years\, she remained a constant presence as sovereign\, shepherding the people of the UK through both joyful times and darker periods of challenge and uncertainty. An enduring admiration for Queen Elizabeth II united people across the Commonwealth. \nShe was Queen of the United Kingdom and other Commonwealth realms from February 6\, 1952 until her death in September 8\, 2022. Her reign of 70 years and 214 days was the longest of any British monarch and the longest verified reign of any female head of state in history. In a world of constant change\, she was a steadying presence and a source of comfort and pride for generations of Britons\, including many who have never known their country without her. \nThe Queen supported over 600 charities during her reign. She will be remembered for her calm and dignity and as someone everyone in the world could look up to\, and she could be a unifying figure.  She was more than a monarch. She defined an era. \nThe show\, intended for ages 9 & up\, is 50 minutes long followed by Q & A. \nQueen Elizabeth II is presented by Sheryl Faye.  Learn more about Sheryl Faye’s historical character performances online here. \nTickets\nIncluded with Admission ($10 Adults\, $8 Seniors & Children)\nFree for Members

SUMMARY:Patton Author Talk & Book Signing
DESCRIPTION:General George S. Patton\, Jr. once remarked that World War II undoubtedly would have lasted a lot longer were it not for his soldiers and his wife. Those who knew the Pattons were aware of the vital role Beatrice played in his reaching his destiny\, but few others understood the singular impact of this remarkable woman whom people described as having “a personality which radiates like a brilliant gem.” \nJoin us as we learn about the life of Beatrice Ayer Patton\, the wife of the famous WWII General George S. Patton\, Jr. in this new biography\, Lady of the Army: The Life of Mrs. George S. Patton\, by Stefanie Van Steelandt. \nMs. Van Steelandt will speak about her new book and the life of Beatrice Patton and sign copies of Lady of the Army.  Books will be available for purchase during this event. \nDue to the inclement weather predicted for Saturday\, Sept. 23\, the event will take place INDOORS at the Patton Family Archives\, Patton Homestead\, 650 Asbury Street\, Hamilton\, Massachusetts. Please proceed to the front door of the Patton Homestead to access the program. Seating will be provided. \nPrior to the book signing\, the Friends of the Patton Homestead are offering tours of the Homestead grounds.  Learn more here >> \nThis author talk and book signing is a free community program as part of the Essex National Heritage Area’s Trail & Sails series of events.  Learn More Here >>
