DESCRIPTION:General George S. Patton\, Jr. once remarked that World War II undoubtedly would have lasted a lot longer were it not for his soldiers and his wife. Those who knew the Pattons were aware of the vital role Beatrice played in his reaching his destiny\, but few others understood the singular impact of this remarkable woman whom people described as having “a personality which radiates like a brilliant gem.” \nJoin us as we learn about the life of Beatrice Ayer Patton\, the wife of the famous WWII General George S. Patton\, Jr. in this new biography\, Lady of the Army: The Life of Mrs. George S. Patton\, by Stefanie Van Steelandt. \nMs. Van Steelandt will speak about her new book and the life of Beatrice Patton and sign copies of Lady of the Army.  Books will be available for purchase during this event. \nDue to the inclement weather predicted for Saturday\, Sept. 23\, the event will take place INDOORS at the Patton Family Archives\, Patton Homestead\, 650 Asbury Street\, Hamilton\, Massachusetts. Please proceed to the front door of the Patton Homestead to access the program.
